Sergeant Matthew Schoolfield is currently employed with the Chickasha Police Department where he has served since 2007. Sgt. Schoolfield currently resides in Ninnekah, Oklahoma. Sgt. Schoolfield joined the military at the age of 17 and retired with the Oklahoma Army National Guard, 45th Field Artillery Brigade in November 2018. Sgt Schoolfield worked night shift patrol and served as a member on the Special Response Team(SRT). He is married to Johnna Schoolfield and together they have three children, Colton, Tinlee and Jemma.
In September 2017, Sergeant Schoolfield was on a tactical team call out with the SRT team where he was attempting to execute a search warrant. He was shot 6 times in which 3 bullets were not stopped by the armor he was wearing. Sgt. Schoofield was critically injured during the execution of the search warrant and was flown to the OU Medical Center where he stayed for several weeks for treatment. Sgt. Schoolfield has had 9 surgeries thus far and needs physical therapy several days a week with the hope of regaining the use of his right arm and hand. Sgt. Schoolfield hopes to return to duty someday but his future in Law Enforcement is undetermined at this point. Due to the severity of his injuries, Sgt. Schoolfield may have to medically retire.
