Frank Frederickson retired as the Yarmouth Police Chief with 43 years of Police experience. Frank is the son of and father of a police officer. He is a graduate of Cape Cod Community College (AA), Northeastern University (BA) and Anna Maria College(MA). Frank is currently working for the Massachusetts Fraternal Order of Police as the Director of Governmental Affairs with his sole mission is to stand up for and be a positive influence on the police profession.
Frank is a strong proponent of Officer Wellness, safety, and training. Frank is currently on the Board of Directors for the Cape Cod Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and a contributor to the Quell Foundation First Responder Resilience Project whose goal is to address the psychological wellness of First Responders and to prevent suicide.
Frank was the President of the Cape Cod and Island Police Chiefs Association and the Southeastern Massachusetts Police Chiefs Association. He also served on the Board of Directors of the New England Chiefs of Police Association and sat on five committees for the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association.
Throughout his career Frank has made community engagement a priority to build safe and strong community for all people. In 2018, Frank experienced the murder of K9 Sgt. Sean Gannon and the wounding of K9 Nero. He was responsible for guiding Sean’ s family, department members and the Cape Cod Community through this far-reaching loss.
